Help Shape the Future of Fort Worth, One Public Art Project at a Time
Arts Fort Worth is on the lookout for a Public Art Project Manager who’s equal parts creative thinker, detail wrangler, and community connector. If you know your way around public art and love the idea of helping artists bring bold ideas to life in public spaces, this might just be your next move.
This role is all about collaboration. You’ll work closely with artists, City departments, and community stakeholders to manage public art projects from concept to installation - and everything in between. From artist selection and contract negotiation to community engagement and dedication events, you’ll be the steady hand guiding projects that leave a lasting mark on Fort Worth.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing multiple public art projects (think: planning, budgeting, scheduling, and keeping things moving)
- Working with artists, architects, and city staff to bring creative visions to life
- Building relationships with community members, City Council offices, and neighborhood groups
- Supporting new initiatives, temporary installations, and community-based projects
- Representing Arts Fort Worth at public meetings, events, and more
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Have experience in public art, museums, arts administration, and/or project management (3+ years preferred)
- Know how to read site plans and speak the language of artists and architects
- Are a strong communicator who can navigate complex situations with diplomacy and care
- Are organized, adaptable, and ready to juggle multiple projects at once
- Believe in the power of public art to connect people and spark change
Bonus points if you’re fluent in Spanish, have experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, and know your way around a CRM.
The Details:
- Salary: $44,000–$50,000, depending on experience
- Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with match, generous PTO
- Location: Hybrid (on-site required for the first 90 days)

- Understand materials, fabrication methods, and conservation best practices
