CALL TO ARTISTS:

The Fort Worth Biennial is a survey exhibition occurring every two years highlighting and celebrating the artistic talents of Texas.

Arts Fort Worth celebrates our community’s diversity through the arts and showcases the talents of regional and national artists and art groups. The  Biennial was the first exhibition at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, under the title The 39-Hour Show.  In 2004, the exhibition became a biennial in even-numbered years. 

Open to Texas-based artists at all levels who may submit up to three (3) artworks. This call open to all disciplines with no theme. All mediums accepted including oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, prints, drawings, mixed media, sculpture, video, installation, photography, and digital art with no size restrictions. The exhibition will occur in Fort Worth Community Arts Center's Marlene and Spencer Hays Foundation Gallery. All artwork must be original and must not infringe upon any copyright or the rights of any person.

Juror’s Selection

The prize is a Solo Exhibition during Spring or Fall Gallery Night 2025. They are some of our most well-attended openings of the year. We anticipate more than 3000 visitors in a single night. The winner will be announced during the opening reception.  The gallery and exhibition period will be worked out between selected artist and exhibitions manager.

Artist's Choice Award

Three (3) Artists will be selected by popular vote for group exhibition in 2025. Voting will take place during the Opening Reception on September 14, 2024. Winning artists will notified by email.

ABOUT Arts Fort Worth

Founded in 1963 as the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Arts Fort Worth is a nonprofit organization with the mission to promote, nurture, and support the arts in Fort Worth. Arts Fort Worth administers a competitive grants program, manages the Fort Worth Public Art program, and operates what was formerly known as the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, a dynamic arts complex with theaters, galleries, studios, and office suites, on behalf of the City of Fort Worth. Arts Fort Worth also provides educational programming and supports arts advocacy at all levels of government, provides public art consultation services, rents the facilities for a wide range of private and public events and programs. SUBMISSION

Work will be juried from images submitted only through the gallery’s online submission. $25 submission fee for up to three pieces. Each additional submission will be $5 each. Images must be JPEGs with a minimum width/height of 800 pixels, and a maximum size of 3MB. Written documents as PDF files. Make sure the file name corresponds with the title of the work and do not use spaces or special characters (!@$, etc) in the image file names. Video and audio files can be submitted through links. Arts Fort Worth reserves the right to reject inaccurately represented work, or incomplete submission.

Format all file names as LastNameFirstInitialDocument.xxx (i.e. MuttRResume.pdf or MuttRImage1.jpg).

PRESENTATION

Work must be suitably framed (or sides cleanly finished or painted) and ready for hanging. D-rings should be used for heavy works, wires for works under 5lbs. Drawings, prints, watercolors and pastels on paper must be under Plexiglass.

SALES

All work will be for sale unless the artist informs the gallery to the contrary. 30% of proceeds from sales will go to Arts Fort Worth and the remainder to the artists.

RECEIVING: Hand-delivered work must arrive on September 2, 2024. Substitutions and late arriving work will not be exhibited. Work must remain for the duration of the exhibition.

September 2, 2024, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.- Delivery of artwork

September 14, 2024 - Opening Reception, 6:00 -9:00 pm (Fall Gallery Night)

October 11, 2024 - Closing  

October 12, 2024 - Show comes down, pick up work
